I went from a 4.8 to a 6.0 out of a 3/4 ton truck. It was out of a 08 truck, the motor had 2600 miles on it and I picked it up from LKQ for 2100 bux complete.

yea, I could do that, find s wrecked VMAX or something and yank the motor out of it. What heads are on the new 6.0Ls? Cathedral port or Rectangular port?

L92 style head but smaller valves on the intake. Same head the 6.2 has.

It runs well enough to make a 5300 pound truck run mid 7's on a 150 shot. Never had it dynoed but I am sure its in the mid to high 400's on motor.

thats the LY6...been eyeing them lately. can pick them up pretty cheap. They are basically a L76 with iron block and no AFM. Still has VVT though.

Thats correct, they're rated at 398 hp from the factory. Ive had the heads off mine replacing the lifters and they have a 5 layer head gasket on the stamped 6.0/6.2. Same identical head on the 6.2 in the escalde/denali trucks.

yeah, they are L92 heads. although the engine is only rated at ~360 hp from the factory. mostly due to the lower compression vs the L92 engine.
