Why wouldnt it work? What is different about it? I would think the only difference(assuming the 08' has it) would be the DVD or DVT or whatever the system is that shuts down certain cylinders for fuel saving.

thats different, not sure that i would keep that anyways if i swapped motors... i think the reluctor wheel is different also... the cam position sensor might be in a different position too

you'd be right with that statement.

I don't think the OS is the same in the tune. Maybe with a custom OS with EFILive it could work, but I'm no expert.

The relucter wheel is the across the board difference.
Then you have DOD and VVT.
If you have a 4.8 like I do a new relucter is all you need.

Find a to get a LS7 in there. Nuff said!:D

Isn't the DOD and everything just in the tune. If you just use the longblock and keep all your current electronics and everything wouldn't it be the same?

You'll need a 58x reluctor wheel. Gen IV cam and front cover with 4x cam sensor. And everything else is will bolt on. Tune to remove the AFM if you have it. You'll also have to make provisions to extend the Knock sensors wires from the side to under the intake.

newer LS2, L76, LY6 or L92 are the easiest swaps.

guess a 6.2L is going to have to be my option...
