Is a tune really necessary for that size stall?

I had a Yank Billet 3200 in a 4l60e with no tune and it drove like a champ, exactly how Beau described. Great for daily use and very noticeable under WOT.

No experience, but I've heard the 6l80s are a finicky beast

The tune is highly recommend for most applications, especially when coupled with aftermarket camshafts. We are able to adjust idle airflow more when larger converters are in play.
