Make back to back passes to make sure you find the sweet spot it likes to leave at

First startup after new Speed Engineering headers installed. With Dynomax exhaust. Wasn't able to make the track this weekend like I planned. Just didn't get the headers in time.

So I'm working through some minor things, but still making progress.

1) Found out that stock 5.3L Non Flex-fuel injectors are really not capable of supporting much over stock power levels. 100% duty cycle at 5400 RPM after the header install.

2) Its a cast iron bitch to get the offroad y-pipe to seal well with the slip fit connections and band clamps.

3) Replacement injectors cost too much, don't fit, or don't have any good data for changing the pulse widths in the tune. I bought LSA injectors for a great price only to find out they are a good 1/2" too short. Lucked up on a local guy selling some top spacers and bought those. Hoping to get them installed this weekend. - Fortunately, there is a lot of data for the LSA/LS9 injector parameters on the hptuners forum and I was able to interpolate some of the data to make it right for the 08 truck tune.

So after a few weekends of tinkering with the headers, half a tube of permatex pipe and muffler sealant, new clamps, and a lot of sore muscles, I "think" the exhaust leaks are all fixed.

I plan on putting in the new LSA 52.5 lb/hr@58 PSI injectors in tomorrow and then upping the shift points and rev limiter to a much more respectable 6700 RPM and 6900 RPM respectively.

Provided all goes well.....There is a fair chance I'll have a ****-eating grin on my face all weekend.

And another update.....

Got the injectors in and working. Got the shift points set to where I want them and injector duty cycle is down to 55% at the shift point ~6750 RPM.

Man this things screams ! ! !

Love love love the added power now that we are getting higher into the cam's power band and staying there after the shift.

Anyone care to put a wager on how long the stock trans lasts? LMAO.

Doubt the 60e will last much longer.
