Truck not responding
#1
I was having troubles with the transmission.. Got that fixed, faulty grounds... Now I'm having other troubles.. Truck responds when it wants to.. Got the tune checked, tuner said tune was good.. I floor it and sometimes it hauls a$$.. Other times it just sits there, doesn't rev or anything.. When it does decide to take off, it struggles.. Exhaust sounds weird.. Like a popping.. Only cel is for cats.. I'm afraid to turn in front of a vehicle even though it's a block away!! Any insights?? Mods are tune, tr220 cam, 3.73, intake, exhaust, long tubes...

If the truck is misfiring it will ruin the cats. An intermittent misfire may not set of the check engine light. It may store a Pending code though. Some one needs to look at the misfire counters with a scan tool under load and at idle. If your tuner set the tables to high it may not detect any misfires.

I had the same problem with my truck and it turned out to be a exhaust manifold gasket. it would run good one time the next time it wouldn't run at all. I guess it sucking fresh air the the O2's was throwing something off. It was hard to find the exhaust leak until it got big and was very noticeable. at first it sounded like a ticking lifter or the sound the rockers make. Might want to check those gaskets out also. my rear o2's are off but the fronts are still there and I'm running headers and y-pipe. hope it might help.

I've had an exhaust leak before.. Stock manifolds were leaking where they connect to cats.. I didn't believe how much it struggled to move with an exhaust leak.. I changed the metal o ring it has on the driver side cat manifold connection.. And all was good.. Illtake a look at it..
