Default trans temp question

the last few weeks have been around 85 degrees outside, and my transmission is running up close to 190 degrees on my way home from work, according to the driver info center. this seems hot. really hot. any thoughts? 2007 suburban 1500 2wd. my dad says his 07 2500 sierra is running more like 150 or 160. thanks!

Do you have a factory trans cooler or aftermarket tc? What kind of driving style did you have at the time? Checked the fluid?

yea those temps are pretty high mine only gets around 175 even when i'm driving it hard. sounds like time to get new fluids/filter and a bigger cooler.

Has the tow package which I believe has the factory trans cooler. I'm going to throw it on the lift today and poke around under there. The driving was around town, 35mph limits with stoplights, taking it easy- 2500 max rpm while accelerating (tired of the pump cutting me off at the credit limit lol). Thanks guys, I'll check the fluid for now, but step 1 is an m6 swap before I can talk myself out of it!
