Default Trans cooler location?

I just ordered a Circle D 278mm 3200 converter for my 09 and need to put a larger cooler in(trucool 40k comes to mind) but I cant find the stock one. Ive been looking through some of the older threads but not much on the NNBS trucks. I have a 4.8 and 4l60e but it looks as though the cooler lines just go to the radiator only, and not to another cooler. There isnt any other aux coolers in the front so maybe I am over looking something but any help would be appreciated.

its no big deal really. just cut the collars off the existing lines, and spilce accordingly

Would I 'plug' or cap where the lines used to go into the radiator? Will rubber hose and clamps over the cut existing lines suffice in this case?

you'll leave the exisiting lines in the radiator, that way the fluid actually travels through there as well. it will help warm the fluid up that way. if your truck would have came with a factory cooler, its ran similar to that way too i believe...or you can bypass the radiator completely...just put a cap over the existing hardlines i guess

Okay, I think I got this correct. The top line on the radiator is the return line back to the transmission so I could cut about 6" out of the hardline and install my trans cooler inline that way correct? Something like this...

It seems as though this would be the easiest way to do it seeing my truck did not come with a factory cooler. Most of the older threads said they just used hose clamps over the cut hardline. Anyone see any reason why that wouldnt work?

Sound good to me. Only thing I do is, use a tubing flaring tool to put just a small flare on the end of the hard line and then anywhere you can, use 2 hose clamps per fitting faced opposite of each other. That gives you maximum clamp holding strength.
