I've been wanting LT headers for quite some time, both for performance and more visceral exhaust sound but have questions if I would valvetrain noise. Exhaust sound I want, mechanical sounds I do not. A few posted they hear valvetrain noise, is that common to all GMT 900 V8's? I have the L9H 6.2 in my 2011 1500 CC and keeping the factory 3.5" exhaust, can someone tell me if they've experienced valvetrain noise in a similar application with headers??

With my catless LPP headers, I found the biggest Magnaflow muffler I could fit, about a 24" oval case, iirc. Still way too loud, it would wake the neighbors up at startup. Threw a 5" case round behind that one. Still too loud. Went with the biggest round I could fit, 7" round Magnaflow, and now it is mellow... until I get on the throttle.

But I feel your pain. Many times, I was about to pull them off and go back to stock.

It's just the nature of the beast with headers to get more noise. If you don't want to deal with it stay stock.
