Default Them Cam Specs

I called my local performance shop for them to spec me a cam, they came up with a 215/232 (don't know the lift) on a 112 LSA. I think that the specs are a little far split, but they ensured me that it would be good for what I asked . I asked for good low end, with a choppy sounding cam. What do yall think about these specs? My truck is on 35s, has LTS, CAI, Truckshop tune, 3k Yank stall and 4.56 gears with a good ol' 5.3.

215/232, split seems a bit much, then again i'm a 212/218 low lift guy.

Beau from Texas Speed recommended this last week.
"I would do a "custom grind" 212/218 on a 112 LSA. It's basically a 212/218 High-Lift on a 112 LSA to bring power in sooner and create a more choppy idle. Let me know if we can help you order one."

I think that's way to much exhaust duration for your setup.

They told me that they had great success with torque on this cam, but I think with that big of a split and a 112 LSA, that all it will be good for is chopping its a$$ off. They are suppose to be coming up with a few other grinds, so we will see.

If they recommended that cam I wouldn't trust any other they come up with.

If your interested I will suggest a good custom cam through Comp for ya, so you don't have to pay extra custom grind. $400 shipped to your door.

I design cams for Hemi's but will point you as close to a solid choice as anyone else I guarantee you that. Yours setup is straight forward and their pick is almost comical...

Wow that is a monster split. I'm not saying it can't work, but I don't see a point or why it would have so much exhaust duration. Even in a hard core supercharger or nitrous build I don't think it would make sense. Never seen anything that I can remember with that much of a split in a 5.3 or any motor really.

I was told that it all comes down to the lobes its cut on. He told me a TSP 220/220 will be different from a Comp 220/220 or any other vendors. He also told me that he has a computer system that comes up with all these specs and such.
