Do not pull the heads off your 4.8 to do a cam swap. As far as I know the 2011 4.8's don't have displacement on demand. (My 2010 4.8 silverado didn't)

You will need an ls2 timing cover or 07.5 truck timing cover (without vvt). You can buy the cover from autozone for like 85 bucks from an 06 corvette and switch your cam sensor in to it.

The 3x sprocket you will need. The stock one has vvt built in to it.

The timing tensioner (ls2 style is debatable). I wouldn't have changed it, it was kind of a pain to install I think I had to drop my pan a few inches to remove the oil pump to install the tensioner.

I reused all gaskets.

Stock 4.8s are pushing high hp so that 5.3 will do just fine!

Id worry more about the fuel pump/injector not being enough vs the rails/hose not being able to handle high hp

I agree. Upgrade the intank pump and getting some new injectors is all you really need to do in this newer trucks. I run 80# injectors because these new trucks can run fine on them, its not like putting to big of a carb on.

Please tell me more about your dual 255 setup. The Lysholm came with bigger injectors and fuel rail but I can't find any specs on it.

Edit- I found your post on your fuel pump.

gonzo, it's OK to brown nose one of our best R&D researchers. You're not the only one watching for dick_landy's results!

(And for those of you who aren't into drag racing history, gonzo's comment about the 413 can be explained on this website: Dick Landy)

Haven't managed to make a pull yet because there are some issues with the converter. Basically its surging in and out of lock up.

Anyone with a 6l80 and a converter care to chime in? I really don't know enough about the subject.
