Just wanted to share my truck.
Details: 2010 RCSB W/T 5.3l 6L80E 3.42 gears G80 Bare bones- manual windows/ locks, vinyl floor etc. Currently at Vortech having a Lysohlm 2300 twin screw installed. When it returns I have the factory exhaust from the flange in front of the muffler back off an 08 Duramax that I polished waiting to go on. I ran it stock with a K&N intake and a Hypertech Max Energy programmer which netted me a 14.65 et at 95.99 mph. K&N intake alone on the truck gave an increase of 19 rwhp and 14 lbft. Thanks for looking and comments welcome! |
Sounds like a cool truck...and a rare combo...How hard was it to find with the rcsb 5.3 a6? I wonder if that combo available in LT trim:hump:

I am pretty sure all of the trucks have a 6L80e now? Going to be a fun truck!

Next thing you should start looking for is traction, and a friend at a tire shop.
That's going to be a fun truck |
I special ordered the truck new with that combo. They had plenty of 4.3/4.8 4L60's on the lot but thats not what I wanted. It had to be a basic W/T with the 5.3/6sd so I ordered one and waited 2 months for it. I also had full intention of supercharging it the day I ordered it. :burnout:

Well, whether you're the original Dick Landy or not - that thing's going to be an excellent sleeper!

The real Dick Landy passed away quite a while ago now. dick_landy is just a screen name I've been using for years. On a progress note, the blower is on and has been dynoed. I was advised of an increase of 91rwhp/52lbft @ 8-9psi with 10.8 AFR and timing set to 13*@ WOT. They are having a transmission issue that they say is only apparent under a certain condition. Basically whats happening is its getting stuck in 2 forward gears just above the downshift point which prevents the engine from revving. They say 99% of customers would never come across this issue but want to ensure that customers never have to experience it. They have come up with a temporary fix but are waiting for their tuning vendor to supply an update. Apparently GM changed the shift logic for the 2010 models and their current program does not jive properly. |
Sweet setup, can't wait to see how you run once they fix it! On a different note, all 5.3 and 6.2 trucks are A6 6L80Es; the 4.3s and 4.8s remain coupled to the 4L60E.
