Shorty headers
#1
Is anybody running shorty headers on their newer truck. I know long tubes are the way to go, but not everyone is comfortable throwing away their warranty. I want to be able to just slap the stock manifolds on if I need my truck serviced. if you are running shorties did you notice any performance increases or difference in sound?

i never had a problem with my LTs on my truck not even when i had my 3200 converter in my truck and it went in for a oil pan gasket leak. it had LTs on it when it went in for a rear seal too.
they have to determine it was caused by the LTs before they will void your warrenty

Not to mention, shorties are a waste of time and money.. Your prob not going to notice any gains at all.. It might give you a lil hp, but nothing that would be felt like a LT would give you..

I was running Jba's on my '04 and I noticed a difference in low to mid range torque for sure. The idle was slightly deeper/louder. I will be throwing these on my '07 Tahoe when I do my cam swap and I expect similar results.
I agree most go for long tubes on here but in my opinion there is a place for shorties, They're relatively cheap, provide a noticeable increase, are easy to install, and provide a good foundation for a street/strip truck.
You shouldn't have a problem with warranty work, they are factory replacement parts and shouldn't create any issues with your dealer.
