I thought about doing the same thing with a new ECM but was advised against it because of all the changes to the other control systems. The new logic does not sync with the older

I have 2 08-09 TCMs on the shelf (#24241890). Would this not be the easier and cheaper solution, or are you saying you would have to change the entire valve body?

The diagrams i've looked at regarding tcm shows you need the valve body to go with the older tcm and newer one with the 2010 i have... so im figuring just swapping tcm out wont work ..not definite on this but what im guessing

I found the pin outs for both the ECMs from 08 and 2010 and they pin exactly the same..cylinder deactivation and all also the fuse block under the hood both exactly the same .. what else wouldnt work you were advised?

The OS of the two different years, and the newer one is not backwards compatible. That is what I was told so I am not 100% sure. It would make sense since there is a different part # for both ECMs. I would think in the long run it would be easier to to get a trans with te older TCM.

It should work between the ECM and TCM but there are a bunch of subsystems like traction control, stability, abs and most things running through the BCM. Like I said this is what I was told when I started to look into this swap. So I decided I am just going to find an older style 6l80 TCM. You may want to talk with your tuner about this.
