Default Removing cats for MPG tahoe w/ 5.3

Im in a quest for MPG on my wife's tahoe. We already have a tune with lean cruise on it and every other small trick in the book. Im debating on removing the cats. Anybody think this will help with her MPG. and yes i plan on turning the rear o2's off.

Probably won't help much with MPG's. Just make it louder and raspy.

I know on mine I get 15-16 city and 22 highway if I drive it right.

It was a copied tune from someone who already had it. I guess he didnt have cats. Cant say for sure. But i just used his tune and flashed it to my wifes truck. So far nothing has made any change.

usually lean cruise will melt the cats.
removing them wont hurt, but they arent gonna help mileage.
your right foot is gonna to be the determing factor since you already have a tune.

Do you have a wideband? I have a feeling it's not really going into a real lean cruise.

Removing cats will not improve your mpg at all. Probably going to go the opposite direction actually.

Buy a prius if you want gas mileage that bad. It's a damm SUV not like they suckered you into thinking it was going to get 28 MPG when you bought it off a lot.

lean cruise going to make your cats do this on both banks > i
