Default Remove ECM/TCM

I've searched for over and hour and I can't find a thread on where the ecm/tcm are located. How do i remove them on a 2009 5.3L.

thanks!

The ECM should be in the engine compartment. If you have the 6L80E trans, you can't remove the TCM as it is located inside the transmission itself.

the GMT800s had the pcm/ecm next to the battery. don't know about the newer trucks. Check by the battery and down a little for a black box with a bunch of wires running into it. Should be able to pop the cover off.

So for the record. The ECM and TCM are to the right of the power steering pump in the engine bay. The 4 speed has the TCM outside and the 6 speed has the TCM inside the transmission.
