Default Question for 6.2 Owners

Can you guys lay rubber from a stop with the stock tune? My truck barely turns the tires even if I put it to the floor. Feels like tons of torque management kicking in. I have a CCSB Z71 w/3.42s. I would expect a 403hp pickup to lay some serious rubber.

NO,
It is a tune issue.
There are a few guys that can light em up, not many.
Mine barely.
Beyond Tm reduction, I believe it a is low rpm timing issue.

Could there be an octane relearn problem like is with the 5th gen Camaro? I would bet most dealers put 87 octane in these trucks.

It's possible that the dealer used 87 but so far I have not heard of the timing tables getting stuck in the low octane settings like the 5th gens have had. The factory TM settings and everything about the trans tune in general pretty much suck though.

I'm sure the TM is partly responsible but you're also dealing with the StabiliTrack and traction control systems. Check the owners manual for how to turn them both off - or maybe somebody else here will remember what buttons to push (I'm still a noob).

I can lay rubber but that is unusual from what I've heard. I got wheelspin on the 1-2 shift today with tc/sc still active. If I turn them both off I can act pretty immature. Sometimes the sc turns itself back on but for the most part the truck lets me get pretty crazy once I disable the nannies.
