Default Qa1 vertical rear mounted shocks

Having a issue hooking so I adjusted my caltracs and installed these qa1s and will be giving it a shot when it stops raining here. Ride Definitely is alot better then having drop shocks. I currently have the settings on 3 clicks.

I've ran flipped overload with the front clamped to main leaf pack when using Caltracs

They require a stiff spring setup

That's what I was wondering. When I ordered these they said remove them. So I guess when it dries up here from the rain I'll find out. Definitely good to know so I can try it if it don't hook

What setting should I try my shocks on? Stiffer the better?

Maybe on a fullsizi i guess. I run a soft *** monoleaf and can hook a drag radial in a car wash. Most light cars do best on a light spring and a good shock that can control the suspension. My suspension is set as loose as possible and the shocks control it. The suspension on my silverado was tight as **** and i spun 1.6860' times. Now days ecsb people make my ecsb times look junky. More than one way to skin a cat i guess...

Without the shocks, i can use 1 arm to bounce the rear end to the point that it bottoms out without using body weight.

I could pile 2 fat girls on the tailgate of the silverado to make it squat 1". It didnt hook for **** on slicks.

I forget that you were playing with a manual trans truck. I can see stiffer is better mentality in that application.

Ideally you want the rear suspension loose for travel and stiff for the hit
You don't want the *** to squat but to separate

Now I double nutted all my rear hardware and have a lot of movement from the suspension but my springs are stiff

Stew even on cars you want a stiff setup, now if I recall you have floating shackles along with monoleafs which is different then what we have

To OP the track and how truck reacts will tell ya

t first yrs ago I tried the stiffest but my truck didn't have the front travel I needed or the hit off line...so I had to make my rear softer then what was recommended ...my old setup was front heavy

Now with new setup I've shifted weight around and in process of giving front end a lot of travel

What is the part number for your shocks?

Do you know the compression and extension of those

And for the record just cause you have adjustable shocks doesn't mean it will do the job corrrectly...it will need to match the setup you have..(this being if your lengths are wrong) my old shocks were compressed to much as well
