btw my truck is a 2012 rcsb ls work truck with hd trailering equipment package.

Well that's not to bad! If your lucky off the bat and don't need to waste money on something aftermarket your lucky! I hope it holds together at whatever speeds you wanna go. Just be safe cause you never know!

I have a pretty good idea how ill do my xmember but seeing examples is always handy

I need some help ordering the metal

what size square bar should I use?
and if I decide to set it on a plate in order to move the mounting part that inch back...how thick should that be?

I just bought 1x3 Rectangular tubing for the crossmember part and 3x3 square tubing for the mount. I ordered 1/8th" but some might like it thicker
