Thanks man it was a long time waiting to get it done but came out good no chips in it either. It's been on for about 2 or 3 months and it's holding up great with this crazy Houston weather we are having

-2011 Plastic molding (cowling piece that says Allison or duramax or whatever)- Neither the left nor right side came back with a price. Also GMPartsDirect may be a tad cheaper, but I copy + pasted from GMPartsOnline.

Total on prices w/out plastic molding = $1070.38

This is probably a $1500.00 - $1775.00 swap if you add the molding + prep + paint....close?

i just did mine a month ago. for monting brackets i used the factory frame brackets that were on my 1500 and then drilled the three holes that hold the bumper side of the bracket (which is a 2500) in place up higher in the bumper and slotted the hole in the bracket as well. after doin so i had to cut out a few holes in the face of the factory 1500 frame bracket to give room for the bolt heads from the bumper side of the bracket to be able to fit tight enuf to get correct alignment. hope this sheds some light on your project....

i need to get a pic of mine on here now after the swap they look sharp..

On my 2011 could I just add the HD grill and HD hood (w/trim) and keep my bumper and end caps? Would there be any gaps at the bottom of the grill where it meets bumper and end caps?

I finished mine up a few months ago, have a few pics of the chevy HD bracket on the thread I had put together. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...t-info-525200/
The chevy hd frame brackets are a 1/8" Narrower than the stock 1500 width. The gmc frame is the same in measurement from the chevy.
I found my bumper on craigslist and the rest from ebay and my parts man from dealer, got a really good deal on the hood from lqk, a couple of small minor dent works dent removed.
I did find that the hd bumper fit fine with the stock grille and the hd grille fit fine with the factory bumper. Only thing was the corners was rounded and the bumper was squared looked ok but was noticicable
