How low can I go without having to c notch? And which kit/brand do y'all recommend? I'll need new leafs for rear cause mine have been heated couple years ago. I know- I'm old school.

4/6 is safe no notch

4/7 is fine without a notch, with a crew cab youll need some helpers so you dont have "cali lean" or excessive bottoming out. On a regular cab 4/7 should be just fine without a notch. With stock size tires youll scrub your inner wheel tubs out back before the frame.
4/6 on a crew is dead level(sig), 4/7 on a reg cab is also dead level.

 

4/7 bottoms out all the time unless used with a helper bag system but then its not really a 4/7 anymore bc you are using air to raise the truck a tad to keep from bottoming out under its own weight.

My 4/6 bottoms out on huge dips at 60+ and i still tow with it an i dont have a ton of bottoming out issues like i did when i had it 4/7

Everyones opinion is just that opinions. I say 4/6 safely without bottoming out issues. You say 4/7 without issues if you have helper bags.

 

What brand drop kit did you guys buy? Any particular vendor?

I havd djm spindles, mcg coil relocators, mcg flip kit, shackle relocators but mine required shims.

I have been looking at swapping it out to a djm flip kit bc you use bolts to roll the rearend to set your pinion angle vs shims.

 

4/6 will be good... 4/7 you will bottom out pretty quick.. depends on road conditions

 

I've got a 4-7 on mine. Control arms only up front, flip kit and stock hanger/shackles out back. Rides decent, rear bump stops are cut but if I put anything over #200 in the rear its on em.

That was with cut stock springs. It sits about 3/4" higher now since I've put the stock height ones back in.

I'm at 31" in the front and 32.5" in the rear.
