Decided Im gonna do it in stages. Just mill the 799's with stock gaskets,ls2 cam and put it back in with manifolds. See how it runs and mod from there.

Nice build so far and looks like you only have a $5 in to it lol.
Not quite sure about going through the trouble of pulling the cam only to swap it with a LS2 cam though, but that's just me.

I hear ya!!! Cams are easy to change out. I had talked to a few people with cam'd 4.8's and 5.3's. One thing they all had in common. They all said that after the cam the got in less races. Like it scared people off. I dont want to scare off anyone just put up a good fight!!

A little freebie a friend hooked me up with!! Duramax exhaust

Quick update!!

Sorry for the delay been working on other things. I finally swapped in the 6.0L. I decided not to port the heads or intake. Even put it back in with manifolds. I did install ebay head studs and LS9 head gaskets incase I decide to boost it later.

Dont know why GM didnt offer it this way!

Effortless!! Easiest way to describe it. What I love the most is leaving stop lights and getting up to 70-80mph normally driving. The 4.8 was soooo lazy till it got to 4k then it would shift it and drop into torqueless land. Would have to wait till it revved back up to 4k. The 6.0L...............PSSSSSSSFT 1/4 throttle and it just pulls. No drop off between shifts. Just awesome!!

My 4.8 couldnt turn the tires over unless you put your foot on the brake and even then it took alittle. The 6.0 will do it slow rolling.

Im gonna get it tuned hopefully in the next month. I need to get the catback on and install a trans cooler. Its still on the stock 4.8 tune with the hypertech. The drivablity is great but Im sure its needing some attention at WOT! Then I will hit up the 1320 to see the difference.

End Tally

$1450.00 LY6 TB to PAN
-125.00 sold the coil packs and manifolds
-750.00 L92 heads with rockers
-120.00 LY6 complete intake {not sold yet}
-450.00 my used 4.8 shortblock
------------
$5.00

+40.00 used LS2 cam
+$50.00 new LS2 valve springs
+$99.00 new LS9 headgaskets
+$6.00 new oil pump o-ring
+$30.00 used ebay headstuds
----------------
$230.00 out of pocket

Im curious to see the outcome. Talking with a member on here that has a RCSB 4.8 cammed,LT's,3200 stall,4.10's on 20's running 14.5's@99. Would like to see some times like that!!
