What does every think is this thing any more thirsty than others dont get me wrong im VERY impressed with the performance of this pig n i love it which is y im curious if there is something i can do to improve or correct let me know
also it has been tuned by Justin at Black bear which was nice and ez but would i benefit from taking it to nelsons im 2 hrs away
Let me know how your project/build/and or truck proforms too
Thanks for the help guys

285/70/17 is closer to 33". FWIW I'm running the same size tire on my 2010 5.3 6l80e RCSB 4x4 also. No performance modifications yet. Gears are stock 3.42. I average 16 ish mpg with a lot of highway driving.
I am saving up for 4.11s and a tune though.
I would expect better mpg from your mods. I hope you can figure it out man

That's great to hear about the gears! It seems like the best bang for the buck.
I wonder if your tune is still a little unrefined? There could be some small changes that would make a world of difference. The setup is pretty unique compared to other 5.3 trucks. You are the first 5.3/6l80e RCSB 4x4 on bigger tires other than mine that I have heard about.
Not a knock against Justin or blackbear. They do great work. Just that your setup is a lot different. It might need extra attention. Maybe someone else with more experience has a different (better) opinion.
But it seems most mileage stuff on these trucks is in the tune and our right foot

Speed makes a big difference on my truck also - from about 18.5 mpg if I keep it below 60 to low 14s at 80-ish. Some of that is probably my 33" tires, some of it is my 2.25" front x 1" rear leveling kit. GM invests millions in aerodynamics and I throw it all out the window. Oh well ....
You might try going back to Justin for a tune adjustment. If you got an Autocal tune just send him another log file and ask him to check it out.
