Local shop wants $750 for true duals.
Cut American racing y pipe to be an x pipe. Then go dual 3" to two s tube style mufflers. Over the axle and exit at the very rear passenger side. It's a big chunk but I think this night be the sound I want. I'm going to order stainless works S tube mufflers. This is what's on my cammed 2010 camaro and sounds great.
Anyone run a similar setup with a s tube muffler?

You are throwing money at a "sound" vs "rasp" vs listening to advice. It's your truck, your money, yet the advice that has been given doesnt "answer" your questions or give you the "answer" you are wanting. There are plenty of big hp trucks running a single 4" exhaust vs a dual 3". Yeah on paper it'll produce more hp but the lower end tq may be lost bc of the dual 3"
Best thing i can tell you is try your way and see how it sounds then go from there.

I personally thought the DB on LT's sounded like ****, raspy and droned. My Hooker aerochamber is pretty loud, and if it weren't dumped right at the axle, I bet there would be no drone. It has little drone.
