Nothing was swapped when I installed the L92. I'm about to swap the cam, timing sprocket and front cover from the 5.3. -m going to use that cam for the mean time till I save up to get headders, cam and a stall. Its gonna get expensive if I want to mod this one and the one in my sig. I'm looking at my escalanche and tools drinking coffee trying to get started...lol...

Id throw a 220ish cam in there while your at it. A decent set of LT's and supporting exhaust/intake/tune and you'll hit 400ish whp and still get similar fuel mileage

Ok, I swapped out the cam sprocket with bolt but I'm using the 6.2 cover. I turned it on and its not missfiring any more but still running on 4. I ordered a new cam sensor cause I misplaced the original one of the 5.3.. Hopfuley that will get all 8 going

The stock L92 cam is a single bolt, with really small . . very small lift. It's made to be advanced and retarded 30-50* . . . . . . He'd have to use a single bolt cam gear and new bolt from the 07 and up trucks to run it.

Get rid of the VVT cover all together . . . you can reuse the cam gear sensor from the L92 or 5.3, it's the same part number, but the cover is spaced too far out to read correctly. You'll have to get a new cover.

i was assuming he was going to use the 5.3 cam gear/cam bolt/front cover. now i see he doesnt have much of anything from the 5.3 understood now

yeah he can throw a cam in it but he says he dont have the cash to waste on it. id throw a 218/230 cam in it. itd stay DD with a stock converter. plus i think it made a good hp/tq number in the test with low lift and a 115 or so lsa

Ok, I got me new sensor and installed it on the 5.3 timing cover. I installed the cover and the truck turns on right away without any problems and idles smooth but when I press the pedel it sounds like its still on 4. Does the dod have to be deleted so that the 4 injectors not spraying can be turned on? I'm assuming there off due to the dod not being there

it wont set the dod until you're at a crusing speed. did you tune the truck for the 6.2 which means it takes more fuel than the 5.3

try this.

unpluh the MAF sensor so it goes into open loop. nothing? undo the PVC hose on the drivers side valve cover and ease your way to him. itll drive fine just cant dog the truck you know? i drove my 6.2 25miles w a 228/236 112+2 cam on a STOCK 5.3 tune that way
