Default Help on serpentine belt!

Hi everyone,

I am modding my truck and ran into a small hiccup.
It is a 2008 Yukon Denali.

I purchased an SLP U/D pulley and an alternator O/D pulley.

I looked everywhere to find the correct size belt/brand/part numbers (2 belts needed) for my setup and can't seem to find it.

SLP's website has the sizes for 5.3 and 6.0 engines but not for the 6.2 L92.
It also says that belt sizes for U/D pulley alone are different than those with both U/D and O/D pulleys.

Another website hinted that the 6.2 uses different "stretch" belts.

Would anyone be able to guide me on this?
Would be great if someone can provide brand and part numbers.

Thanks in advance.

6.2 belt system should be the same as the 5.3 and 6.0 and I would get rid of the strech belt design by adding a belt tensioner for a 99-07 style truck(it will bolt right up). The only thing I can't help with is the addition of the O/D alt pulley, however the difference in size may not be enough to cause a problem.

Thanks for the feedback.
I guess almost everyone who did this ended up retrofitting the tensioner. It just might be easier going that way in the end.
Thanks again.

From everything that I've read, the retrofit to belt tensioner is what you need. I think SDPC sells a kit for it, if I recall.

Ok guys, to put this issue to bed...
I installed my cam and pulleys and after quite a bit of trial and error at the shop, we arrived at the correct belt sizes for those who want to do this without retrofitting tensioner pulley.
The main serpentine belt is the 6PK2240 (Gates Micro V Part Number K060882 or Goodyear Gatorback Poly V Part Number 4060882).
The A/C belt is the 4PK870 (Gates Micro V Part Number K040343 or Goodyear Gatorback Poly V Part Number 4040342).

Remember this is for GM SUV GMT 900 with L92 engine and SLP 25% underdrive pulley (PN 100230A) and an alternator overdrive pulley.

Hope this info will be useful to someone trying to go for the same mods.

Cheers feelas.

Are you suggesting you used a regular belt with no tensioner on the compressor?

Gates Micro-V stretch belts is what I used.
2008 Yukon Denali comes stock without a tensioner.
After the balancer/UD pulley installed, it was plain trial and error getting the new stretch belt sizes for the main belt and the A/C belt.
Been running the A/C all day today, no problem.
