Default have 07 NBS 4.8 want to swap in 08 ly6

Im new here and i hate to ask but I have been researching this off and on for a little bit and cant find the info im looking for.

I have a 07 NBS silverado with a 4.8L and want to do the ly6 swap. I only want it due to the torque it makes to be able to pull my travel trailer better. Its paid for and I dont want a car payment, so another truck is a no go.

I understand the 4.8 not having the vvt and the current wiring will not support it. I have come across a ly6 complete dropout w/harness and ecu. I would want to keep the vvt due to cost concerns and simplicty. eveywhere i read it says its a simple swap. but i dont find anything on retaining the vvt.

before i get onto my questions i have one more thing to add.. if i do this swap the current 4.8 w/81k miles will be pulled and will be used in another project. And i will need the harness and ecu if i dont go the carb route. so if everything from the ly6 can work, that will be better for me.

my questions:

can the engine and harness, since the 4.8 doesnt have vvt, be swapped in with no problems?
if so, which ecu do i use?
I have the 4l60e transmission, does this pose a problem electrically?

Thanks,

Erik

The LY6 harness will be a 6L80e transmission connection. You dont have that so that harness is pointless for you to get. Reuse your current harness with the bigger engine. As for the new engine it doesnt care that it has vvt. They truck will do just fine with it left in. If you are talking about adding vvt to the current harness then you will need to do a little more digging as its not that simple.
