idk if im just over cautious but i sure wouldn't wanna be taping anything fuel pump power related, that could put resistance in it or drop the voltage, that thing needs all the power it can get

I wired mine to the instrument panel fuse block inside truck on driver's side left of steering column. There is some spare terminals available that have power with key on only but not with retained accessory power operating.
Just throw a inline fuse on power led.

Believe it or not but ive got 5 12v outlets. 2 under the AC controls on the dash, one in the center console, One on the back of the center console under the rear AC controls and one in the back by the rear hatch or lift gate, whatever you want to call it lol.

it seems like this is very dependent on which truck it is.. now just realizing you have a tahoe. and also what options the truck has got. ive got a WT and there is def no switched 12v in the fuse panel in the truck. i even took the fuse box apart to see if i could solder some jumpers on the board to make an empty spot be used but there isnt even a place for the fuse to be able to connect inside. the circuit board that the fuses plug into seem to be made specific for certain options and not one general piece for all

Ok So whatever you do and whoever said wire it to the pink or orange wire! That is ******* retarded.... Do your research guy! The newer trucks all have low volteage refference signals to the ignition lead that go to the computer. If you tap into this you will blow your ingnition out and need to get a new one once you figure out your truck wont start!! hahaahahaha Just an FYI for you. Let me know if you need a wirring diagram.... I used to build callway corvettes and am very familiar with the newer trucks!

Hence the double check part...
why don't ya read in depth before ya start calling people effing retards.

Not to thread jack, but on the flip side, what if you want something on when the key is turned to ACC? What fuse would you tap then? Like for instance, turning on amplifiers for a stereo.

You would want to go to the fuse block under the dash. This has multiple 12v main powersource options. You could hook up there and it is pulled straight from the battery in this location.

As far as my comment earlier.... whoops.... my badd friend! But your right everyone here should be double checking there work at home. Grab yourself a multi meter and start pinning out your sources!
