I hit a 4" ******* curb. That's what caused the damage. I've hit a 6" curb doing a hair over 50 mph in an older '96 Chevy and all it did was bent wheel, tweaked spindle and outer tie rod. Frame or control arm was perfectly fine. Just really pisses me off that it was taken out by something so small.

Bet you anything the damm bolts were incorrectly torqued at the factory causing the bolts to walk and oval out the holes. I have seen several of these trucks do exactly as you are describing when they have come in for front end alignments and the bolts were not tight enough.
Weld a piece of plate over it re drill the hole and rock and roll.
