I launched in 4wd every time, then shifted into 2WD in second gear. Best mph was 90.37.

I drove several 5.3 trucks and one with the 6.2 before I decided what I wanted. The 5.3 with 3.42 gears felt a lot stronger than my '99 5.3 with 3.73s, and it should with 40 more horsepower and the 6-speed. The 5.3 with 3.08s felt pretty flat compared to my old one. But the 6.2 was in a whole different league, as far as my seat-of-the-pants could tell. I'd like to know what the new 5.3s actually do at the track, but I bet 06Sierra2 is pretty close.

+1

I had an '09 5.3 for 2 years and in stock form, it was a turd compared to the 6.2, stock vs stock.

My intake and tuned 6.2 CCSB 3.73 on 33s feels quicker in 2wd than 4wd unless I'm on a slick or dusty surface. I can feel the power loss in 4x4. Since we pretty much have the same truck, I would guess that you would run quicker in 2wd. I also run with TC/Stabilitrak disabled every time.

Yeah, I pretty much figured that. I launched in 4wd this time for consistency and to save the tires. I'll repeat that when I add a tune, and any improvement in times will be directly because of the tune. Then I'll probably get excited and start trying to learn to launch it right in 2wd with all the junk disabled to see how good it can really do.

I ran an 05-09 Mustang GT from a stoplight to 70 in 2wd off-idle with the nannies off and a pretty hard launch. My bumper was at his shoulder when I let off.

Not only that, but I'm sure your pretty high up in the Sea Level. I live by Houston and were right at sea level, which is worth at least half a second in the quarter mile.

I'm extremely impressed with your time, especially if your stock and 3000ft + above sea level.
