Youre not losing enough power to worry about the cost difference of running true duals. The horsepower difference is very minimal.

Thats way over kill, you need all the low end you can get and your losing alot with 3in true duals, even if your running one muffler. You should be running 2 1/4 piping (Dual ) if you wanna retain the majority of your low end, even then its not adviseable to do that on a bolt on truck.

Agreed completely. I'm sure the current setup flows great and you probably picked up power on the big end, but you're killing you low end torque. I was running 2.5" true duals on my 04 CC 5.3, full bolt-ons/cam/etc... and that was overkill. Best thing I ever did was to go back to a single 3".

I think that would be a good choice IMO.

When you go back to 3in y Pipe make sure you use one of the Flowmaster merge 2 to 1's, that will smooth the transition of the exhaust and kill some of the rasp. If you still don't like the sound put a bullet muffler about 1 foot after the merger and that should solve it compleletly. Good luck with whichever route you take.
