The mechanic was me.......sigh.

It blew out a couple threads having trouble getting chase or plug started.

ouch....try a beginner tap to chase the threads with. if that doesnt work then you will need to pull the head to fix it if it isnt gone too far. that's why i double check my plugs after a few days of driving the truck.

If you have never touched the plugs in it I've had one 5.3 and one 6.2 stone stock that blew the plug out of the head. The 2 trucks that did this we found had the plugs tapped incorrectly on the one head and the other 3 holes were out of spec and the plugs were mega loose unless you overtightened the heck out of the plug to get it to seal.

Autozone OEM sparl plug thread chase tap is garbage! Spent 6 hours trying to get this to work.

Conventional square shaft tap, and wheel bearing grease worked great.

Crisis adverted....... whew!

Thanks for the advice and help.
