my dad always uses the "if they made any more power the factory would use them" arguement... and every time he does, I want to shoot him for spouting out such ignorance...

well the wrap was just an idea, i didnt think about it keeping heat in as i did keaping it out. for the red couplings i just had them laying around the garage and the fit do i used them. i want to change them to black ones, and was going to use black header wrap but couldnt find any so i just used that and it looks like a broken arm in a cast but i dont really care, it performs great and i could tell a difference, only cost like 50$ at the most and i didnt have 300 to spend so i did it, oh well. and no modifications to the air box at all. sorry its not a shiny polished tube.

So you drive an 08 truck with $2000+ worth of suspension, performance parts, and you are worried about spending too much on an intake

Header wrap is insulation (resistance to heat movement). If you pick up hot air it will keep the heat in. If you pick up colder air it will keep heat out. In the engine bay everything heatsoaks to an extend no matter what it is made of. Reflective insulation will help block IR heat, probably the best but not the best looking. Just zero out the IAT table
Don't worry about what some say about the tube, some don't turn any wrenches let alone build something.
