Default Custom 4" Intake Tube

It's been a while since I have posted. I recently sold my old 2004 Silverad RC/SB 4x4 that had a 6.0, MP112, and 4L80. The engine lost oil pressure and eventually died.

Anyways 2-weeks ago I picked up a 2011 Sierra Denali AWD. it doesn't make the power of my old truck but has pretty good snot for such a big truck.

Anyways, I am planning on basic modifications for this truck or the wife will kill me. I recently ground out all the grooves in the stock airbox and the lid as well as opened the inlet side of the box (towards the fender). I also matched the fender by cutting it with a body saw. Today I removed the stock intake (maze) tube and made my own intake. It's made from 4" mild steel tubing and uses a 3.5" x 4" silicon coupler on the MAF and. 4" elbow on the TB side. I also made a bung that I welded to the tube for the PCV line. Lastly I secured it using T-bolt clamps. It's not finished but functionally it is done.

Now I'm looking for nanofiber air filter similar to the Amsoil EAA123 which may be discontinued.

Looks really good. Lets see the rest of the truck!

And watch for surface rust etc on that intake tube. I think most people use alum for a reason.

All ground down and painted with Rustoleum Professional Bedliner spray. I think it gives an OEM type look. Also a (bad) picture of the truck. Next is a Blackbear tune via Autocal...

I like the look of that intake tube a LOT. Nice work, dude.

I also like what Justin at Black Bear Performance did for my truck with an AutoCal tune - GREAT choice! Keep the updates coming!

Thanks for the comments. I used Justin (and the AutoCal) for my 2004 and I couldnt be happier with his service and the results. I know the peak power from the tune will not be too significant due to the factory tune being fairly good but I know the factory 6-speed tune is holding her back a lot. Plus the potential MPH gains is icing on the cake!!
