converter swap truck not moving

Default converter swap truck not moving

Just finished my buddys 08 sierra 5.3 converter swap to a yank 3200. Transmission fluid is at the right level after 45 min of idle and its moving in and out of prnd321. It won't move until about 4 grand in drive. It's bearly moving as well. Please help....

Did you fill the converter first? Is this an SS or PT converter?

A SS and yea we filled the converter 1/2 to 3/4 of the way

Sounds like you're low on fluid. Let it cool down, then give it another warmup cycle. After it's warmed up the second time, run it thru all the gears while idling, about 5 seconds in each gear. Then recheck and top off the fluid while it's idling in park.

Quit trying to put it in gear & drive it. You're gonna smoke the **** out of something.

Yea we did that and checked the fluid. It was showing to be at the right level. I talked to a buddy and he said could be the transmission pump. Might have broke it???

It's a possibility, especially if the converter wasn't actually all the way in like you thought it was.
