Considering Dyno Tune
#42
Here is the issues I have with my tune and I need to get with Justin to get it dialed closer.
1. When slowing down off of accelerator, downshifts result in jumps in RPM, 2-1 shift is most significant.
2. Idle - It idles at 14-15.5 AFR then it will go lean towards 16+ afr and then the cam sounds sweet! then it will come back where it should be. - Justin told me its closed loop and commands 14.7 afr all the time except WOT and idle. So i don't know if this can or cant be fixed?
3. When I launch it will light the tires till 1-2 shift then it seems to fall on its face then RPMs get up and it lights em again till 2-3 shift. Also under mild Acceleration it seems to fall on its face 1-2 shift? Is this my trans tune?
4. A few times upon startup and put it in reverse it has died.
5. I do seem to have that surge when coming to a stoplight while on the brakes.
So i suppose i need to data log and send it off to justin to get it closer to dialed in. I want a dyno tune, but then i do need drivability issues corrected.

It really is just a matter of logging info and making changes but having an experienced tuner to work with sure speeds this process up a LOT. They often knows what issues are, and what to look for quick, so the results happen fast. In my case last time around it was completely different being a swap car so lots of stuff to deal with aside from just peak performance but what was done in person in one afternoon cruising around side streets would have taken me WEEKS logging, emailing, and flashing tunes back and forth to get it right.
I didnt vote on your poll because you dont need a dyno to tune, but it sure is nice to work with the tuner in person, and I didnt see that third option to vote. For stock or mild builds I think the datalog email process is fine, you wont have to log too much or load many tunes, but for more complex builds with bigger cams etc. I think you would fare much better to meet with the tuner in person to get it done in one or you might be at it quite a while.
Or buy the suite, and go at it yourself, time consuming and all but certainly doable. I got about halfway through my last one and simply got tired of all the hours working on it ( should I say building it ) and I was burnt out so I hired a local pro to take it the rest of the way home. Took a few hours and now it runs champ.
Thanks Arun

I finally got a chance to make the stop n go log for Justin, between screwing up my y pipe and family coming to town it felt like forever!
I went to a secluded road where I could screw around no problem and did like 50 various speed stops, hard accel's hard stops and got the issues to act up a lot
so hopefully we see something within a week and try again!

I booked myself a spot on August 11th for a baseline pull, just to see my numbers.
what gear would be reccomended? 3rd?
I dont have a top speed limiter and I have a 2 piece drive shaft so speed isnt really an issue
