Catch Can Install
#15
its purpose is to catch oil from the oil/vapor mist that is coming from the pcv system and being fed back to the intake ....
the oil tends to fall in the intake and gunk up... so if you catch the oil then it should help your intake from gunking up..
they are really needed on forced induction applications

So after 1 week, I took the catch can apart... there was alittle oil and carbon build up inside, however there was also oil residue in the line going to the intake as well. I added some tubing inside on both the supply line (almost down to the bottom of the can) and return line (about half the length of the can) similar to Silver Dog's picture above. I then put some crankcase filter material in both so not only will it be filtered coming in, but also going back out to the intake. This is not a permanent solution by any means because the filter material will have to be changed, so I will have to take it back apart to change the filters. I am more interested in seeing how much oil is in the can next weekend and if the intake line is finally dry! I'll keep ya'll posted...

what size of hose did you use? the kit i ordered came with a small section of clear braded line. Also, inside the can, there isnt enough room on the fitting coming in to add some hose to get to the bottom of the can.
