Default Cam for a 5.3 too much or good for DD?

Is this too much for stock 5.3, or would this work great with heads Fast LSXRT intake?
Lift is 0.590 224/232 115 LSA

Guessing you read this article:

4.8L VS 5.3L Engine - Tech - Little LS Slugfest - Super Chevy Magazine

It mentions that cam specifically and talks about the gains to be had on the 4.8 and 5.3 with heads and an intake.

Personally, I think it may be a bit big for a 5.3L, but a good tune goes a long way on what is considered good drivability and "too much" is largely personal preference.

If you don't mind a little shudder at lower RPMs, it would probably work just fine. But I would consider getting it with a few degrees of advance ground it to increase cylinder pressure and keep the low end up. Like 115+3

I think that cam probably still has a couple of degrees of negative overlap which should keep it relatively tame.

I also feel like that is too much for a 5.3, especially a daily driver. Realistically, you would want about a 3500 stall behind that cam to overcome the dead spot down low. I would suggest our 220R on a 1112 LSA.

It's on sale, too!

Yeah I read that article yesterday , most cams I see people use for the 5.3 are not a crazy for a stock truck. Just curious about that cam, my bro keeps telling me to have isky spec a cam out for me... I was considering the EPS truck torque cam 1

Intake Duration: 214 Degrees at .050" Tappet Lift.
Intake Lift: .600" with 1.7 rockers.
Exhaust Duration 220 Degrees at .050" Tappet Lift
Exhaust Lift .564" with 1.7 rockers.
115 Degree LSA
