Damn - nice to have a 1/4 mile track that close - I can only wish . . .
From my home in the Richmond area, I'm over an hour from Lonestar Motorsports Park (Hennessey's place) in Sealy, about the same to HRP in Baytown, and about 3 hours from SAR in Marion.
Those times are all with no traffic tie-ups, of course. When are there no tie-ups in the Houston area?

We also have a very nice NHRA track called Texas Motorplex about 1 hour away.

In fact, I'll be at the Motorplex - pulling my raggedy ol' Firebird - on June 12 with the Dallas Area Pontiac Association for their annual Pontiac Southern Nationals races.

Since we got so many conversations in the thread I am summarizing the actual truck times in the first post so all us old, lazy guys don't have to search through every post.
