Default CAI on nnbs 5.3

I bought a AEM brute force cai kit. It is polished and looks great. Went on very easily and fit great. Any comments on a better system? I also installed a Helix tb spacer and took the screen out of my air meter. That use to be one of the first little mods we would do when we were tinkering with our 5.0 stangs. Anyone else take it out? Any problems? New to this site and just asking some questions. Thanks for the help. Also fixing to order cat back. Looks like folks like corsa, borla or magnaflow.

Most all CAI kits only differ in price and finish. I have a Volant and like it, the Outlaws are pretty nice too. As far as the spacer there are about a hundred pages on this forum about how much of a waste of $$ they are.

Seriously people keep buying these things!! I am going to start machining my own brand and make a freaking fortune!! Long live the throttle-body spacer!

Same goes for the MAF screen, start looking for a stock one to replace the one you ruined...sorry if I'm coming off a little strong but these are the two most common misconceptions in our sport.

Welcome to the forum, there are hundred of great guys (and a few Lady's) here who will lend their experience and expertise to boost the performance of your ride!

What all problems will I encounter with the screen out of the meter? So far no check engine light. Just wondering what all will happen. Performance lost???
As for the spacer,it was given to me.
Thanks,Jeremy

The screen flattens the airflow over the sensor, without it it will not meter the airflow correctly. I know a lot of guys do it and dont have any problem, and some do but nobody ever showed any gains by doing it. My MAF is totally stock.

Take the spacer off and drill it out and tap it for a nozzle, then spray that beotch!

I spent some time with my truck on the dyno.

Installed the AFE stage 2 intake setup on mine after three back to back pulls to get a baseline. After the intake we found that it gained an astounting 6 hp and lost 1 ft/lb. LOL

It does sound a hell of alot better though.

The moral is I wouldn't expect wonders from just an intake.

Thats why I refuse to spend $200+ for an intake kit. Thats why I wait until some ebay company makes knock-off intakes for a 1/4 of the price.

yea throttle body spacer is worthless, I have the K&N intake and it made a slight difference, looks really good and clean looking imo
