Default broken door handles on denali

I have had three broken door handles on my 08 cc denali since I got it last month. I had an 09 silvy cc LTZ with the painted handles and never had a problem. Whats the deal? Are the chrome handles easier to break than the regular plastic ones? Im not hard on trucks but all it takes is simply pulling on the handle when the door is accidentally locked and bam, another one bites the dust!

Yes for some reason the chrome handles are more brittle.

Wish I could just shave the handles and be done with it! Give it that clean look.
