It's nothing special looking but it's air tight and was a noticeable difference. I am going to be ordering some parts from Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts today or tomorrow and redo it so it looks just a little better and I think I can get a better fit. The tube coming off the air box is at an angle and it's tough to get it to all line up how I wanted it to.

The pics below is from when i was fitting it up and checking the connections so not all the bands are on and the breather hose is not drilled and hooked up to the tube.

I will take lots more pics and do a small write up when I get my new parts and get it all cleaned up

Most likely for comfort, which is another function. There is hardly a noticeable difference in outside appearance. Another thing... the only thing you ever need to show anyone is your tail lights. Popping hoods is for ricers and Lightnings that need to cool down.

Bought a 2' section of 4" and a 4" street elbow from Lowes. The rubber connectors are a 4" to 3.5" reducers.

PCV = Pressurize Crank Ventilation.

In the stock intake tube there is a small hose that is plugged into it from the intake. If it is not plugged in, there is a chance that that it will throw lean codes. My 08 didn't throw them, but my 2010 did. The new tube needs to be tapped for that hose somehow.

See above. The hose is hooked up just didn't post with it hooked up. The two pics above are from when I was test fitting it and seeing if I had to trim anything.

Never mind I did have a pic. I had some clear vinyl tubing from another project already that was the right diameter so I just used that and a Hose Barb A-201B (5/16" Barb, 1/4" MIP) and a couple small hose clamps.

I did an Airaid M.I.T. and an Airaid Synthamax dry drop-in. About $150 if you get both together as an Airaid Jr kit, looks clean, installs easily, and flows more air than stock.

I'm new on this site but have been checking it out for a while. I have a S&B intake on my 08 SD. I do a lot of diesel performance in my shop and have had good luck with S&B's. I decided to try one out. Fitment was very good and overall looks are good as well. S&B uses 8 layers of cotton on their filters while K&N's use 4-6 depending on application. I haven't seen anybody on here with this setup so I thought I would throw it out there. They retail for $270.
