Default Bed covers

The wife and I have decided that were going to be driving on vacation instead of flying. We'll be taking our 07 CCSB. The cab will have 3 adults and a pretty large car seat and we will need to haul luggage for 7-8 days for everyone. Plus I bring two spares, fuel, tools etc. on a trip like this... We're talking probably 3500miles or so total. Anyway....

My wife hates, HATES bed covers because she says they make a truck look like an 80yr old grandpa drives it lol. She is mainly referring to those bulky fiberglass painted covers that stick up 4" over the bed and look a little rediculous (because that's what her grandpa gets on every truck he has lol) but I've convinced her that we need one for this trip mainly. I've been wanting one for a long time... So this is what we need...

Something very low profile, fairly weather proof, lockable, pretty good quality and easy to open/close since it will be left on her truck after the trip. I've even considered a bed rug to go with it...

She says nothing over the bed rails at all. I'd kinda like a thin cover to go over the rails since we've got the standard issue few dings in the bed rails like most GMT900's have. Stowing the cover to use the bed for other things is not an issue. The bed of out truck gets used for absolutely nothing otherwise. Anyway... Let's hear about them. This is something that I literally know basically nothing about

I have the TonnoPro LoRol. Its $200 cheaper than the truxedo version.

It doesnt lock, but you could add a locking tailgate handle.

the 3 piece hard covers are nice but you lose about 2' when its fully open.

I seem to recall peragon being a sponsor here when I first joined as they had a thread with a discount for their bed covers. I wanted to get one of those for my Scottsdale and to replace the stupid worn roll back cover on my stepside. I would look into one of those if they're still around IMO

I had a truxedo cover on another body style truck and absoleutely loved it. I hate fiberglass covers also but the roll up ones are nice. I could still haul my 4 wheeler in the bed whenever I wanted with it.

Hell, everything I've looked at that I've liked was $800+... Really looking to spend as little as practical. I'm dipping into play funds here, no need to get outta hand lol. I've got a motorcycle to finish.

I'm sure it would be different on my truck since the tailgate is different but how does that meet? Does it overlap or come up to the back of it?
