Would be pretty cool if someone came up with a bolt on kit to add paddle shifters to our trucks to the factory steering wheels. Anyone got any idea how this could be done or know of anyone who can do this? I have seen the Master Shift paddle shifters but don't know if they would work right in our trucks.

I came across these a while ago when looking at doing a ls/4l80 swap into a C3 vette. TCI says it will work on all the stock transmissions

 

So these will work on our trucks?

 

Use factory parts from a vette?

 

From the research I have done they will work with the transmissions but are more of a universal wheel type fit, Installation may require cutting or grinding drilling... etc... .I was looking to use in a car but I know the rep I spoke with at tci a while ago said they worked with all the electronic auto transmissions. May want to call and confirm to make sure nothing has changed.

 

Man forgot about this thread... Well my buddy in a Chrysler 300 actually used paddles form a mercedes and were not really expensive at all. I think they were little over $100. Now they are pretty much just electric momentary switches but didnt see any issues bolting them up to our steering wheels. These wont work for the 4 speeds but on the newer 6 speed truck i dont see why you could tap the 2 wires coming from the stock "paddle" on the shifter. Throw it in M and use the new paddles from there, throw it back to D and drives normal. Something to think about I think. Ill see if I can find some pics of them.

 

Here are some pics of the AMG shifters from another site. These are the ones I want on my truck and look like they will go on really easy just need to see what wires I need to tap into on the factory little paddle. Oh and there not plastic they are metal and very ridged. Key is to make everything look as factory as possible.
