Default 6.2L Exhaust Recommendations

Short and sweet:

6.2L L92 getting full mandrel exhaust system heres the skinny :

1 7/8" ARH LongTubes with Cats

4" cat back custom system with a muffler (unsure which muffler at this time)

dual 3.5" tips in stop 6.2 location

Blackbear Tune/ CAI

Question/Concern - Is 4" catback too large for this setup? What would you recommend for muffler or catback (keep in mind im going custom mandrel bent).

Any help would be great!

I would do either Magnaflow or borla depending on which sound u like. Also have u looked at the new Magnaflow cat backs offered for the 6.2s? Pretty sure they are all mandrel bends

I've looked at a large variety of cat backs (borla, magnaflow, corsa) but decided i wanted a custom look and there is a mandrel shop close to me so I am going custom with some black powdercoated tips to match my black truck. I am just concerned if a 4" cat back is too large with the ARH headers I'm ordering? I think a large amount of the catbacks systems are 3.5" like the stock pipe, should I go with 3.5" mandrel instead?

i ran 4'' mbrp catback exhaust worked out great with my cam! also if u do 3 1/2 just keep ur stock pipe and put a magnaflow, me personally i wouldnt pay for another stock sized exhaust system just my $0.02

Thats what i was thinking as well, Just needed someone with more experience to advise. Exhaust shop recommended 4" but they were not sure about the 1 7/8" headers. Considering a large # of people are running them i think i should be fine, just wasnt sure with the 4" cat back. I also may go forced induction (supercharger) in the future so i would like to do the exhaust only once.

pretty nice you found a place that mandrel bends 4" pipe. i had a hard enough time finding someone to install my borla muffler with 3.5" mandrel bends. they were pre-bent elbows they hacked up to fit

yeah this guy is one of the few shops in my state that does mandrel. I was thinking 3.5" but he recommended 4" and he can do stainless as well. Only concern i had was that he thought 1 7/8" were too large for primaries unless i was putting in a cam or FI which are both strong possibilities in the future, however I see a large amount of 1 7/8" ARH headers on trucks on here and ive seen the dyno results on the 1 7/8". Any recommendations on Mufflers with 4 inch inlet dual outlet or single outlet? I just bought tips for the rear.

I have a Magnaflow 15121 sitting in my shop waiting for me to pay it off through work. Once its paid, ill throw it on and report back. It is a full mandrel stainless 3.5" with a 5" tip. Looks like every other catback setup while it sits in the box, so nothing new there.
