Default 6.2 how much timing are you running?

so ive had the truck about 2 months now..put headers, intake, and full corsa on..and had zippy do up a tune and i think i owe him another pat on the back..lol ive had the tune in the truck for a few weeks now and only done a few logs and havent sent him any back yet for tweeking so this was just round one...

anyways on my way home from work i desided to pull out the laptop and do a full pull well from 20 to 100ish..anyways truck feels veryyyyy strong this nice cold weather helps too..lol soooo im just glansing over the log right now..and i was pull 27 on the top of 2nd gear then 27.5 on the top of 3rd gear..and 28deg on the top of 4th gear.. which would explain why it feels so strong

i was thinkin most guys were only pulling 22 to 24 sooo if im pulling that much and not seeing any KR i think i might just have to go to the track this weekend and see what it runs..i figured with the mods i could do a 13.9..but now im curious if it might be faster then i think..

I have an l99 camaro and that is about like my timing is up top. I know the trucks are heavier but, I have anywhere from 23 to 30 in mine at certain point. Afr has to be right to pull this timing tho.

On 87 octane, I run 24* with a 12.5 AFR. On 91, I run considerably more.

23 on 91.
30 on e85
this is also based on the factory timing curve.

you also have to remember. the cam in the 10 and newer trucks is different that older 6.2's. so the dynamic compression will be different.

I wasn't aware that it was different! But that doesn't really matter in my case, because mine isn't stock anymore.

i didnt know the cams were diff either.. i thought it was just in the tune for the '10s...hmm well cant have that guess its time to start looking for a cam..the 08s at VVT but dont have AFM right?

i would have expected to see 28 to 30 with e85...but im only running 91 to 93oct

that what i was expecting to run...but with this cool air we have right now its in the 40s..and 7 degs more timing i think i might be makin some good power..but even if im makin more power then yours...i CANT BELIVE how lite your truck is...5280lbs??? thats it??? im assuming your 2wd..but still thats light i expecting the awd SD to weight in at 5600+ and that will slow me down alot..soo i guess i should still shoot for a 13.9 after all

Yea man, I weighed it on two different scales, both within 15 pounds. She is just as light as my 2010 GMC CC 5.3/6Speed truck was.
