you can bore your 5.3 to 5.7 specs if the cylinder walls are thick enough, then use a stroker kit for a LS1 with stock sized pistons

bore the block like said then spend 3k on the LS1 383 stroker kit. the only problem i find is the cost to have a 383 stroker from a 5.3
in my opinion id just buy a 6.0/6.2 vs spending all that cash on the 5.3
now if you wanna just bore it to the 5.7 throw some 243s milled a hair an run a 10:5:1 compression then yes go for it. might as well upgrade rods while you have the pistons out. upgrade to ARP head studa, ARP rod bolts, ARP main cap bolts, get your heads reworked an throw a healthy spec'd cam in it an call it a day. just my .02 it'd make one hell of a DD/Track queen

Not hard at all. Stroking a Gen IV engine just requires a stroker crankshaft and a piston with the right compression height to match. The 5.3 engine has a 3.622" stroke and the most common stroker crankshaft is 4.000". If you are looking to keep your stock engine then you have a few options

GM 5.3L Alum or Iron block x 4.000" stroke crankshaft -> 359 cu.in
GM 6.0L Alum (LS2) or Iron block x 4.000" stroker crankshaft -> 402 cu.in
GM 5.3L Iron block bored to 3.898" x 4.000" stroke crankshaft -> 382 cu.in

The 5.3 Al & Iron blocks can retain DOD along with the LS2 block

Sure Flex Fuel has nothing to do with the stroker kit. The only thing is the DoD will depend on what engine block you use.
