your stock cooler should work fine, according to the aeroforce interceptor gauge i had the stock cooler never let my temps get over 165 on a hot day and usually stayed around 140-150. But i would get a trucool when you have the money just to be safe

I ordered a tru cool last week and it comes in today. I also ordered a GLow Shift Digital tranny temp guage and a dual pillar pod. I have a after market cooler and it was not enough the 1st time I list 3/4. Keep the tranny cool.

Get a temp guage if you dont have one already and save up $2-$3k for another transmission.

if you put a converter the temps are going to get hotter than 165. the bigger the cooler the better when you put a converter

its ok to run 200* but its best to stay 150-160 anything cooler can hurt the tranny and anything hotter than 220* kills trannys too.

Look at the TBSS Section or go to TBSSOwners.com. There are a lot of guys who have thrown some real power to a Trailblazer SS (vehicle being around or over 5K in weight). That might give you a little more insight on what to do to protect your tranny......... besides the cooler (probably the 1st step).

Good Luck!!
