Default 2wd to 4wd conversion

Does anyone know if a 2wd Tahoe can be converted to 4wd? If so, what would be needed?

You will need a new frame. Tcase, autotrac wiring, driveshafts. I have a frame complete with axles. It just got sand blasted and painted. $500

I heard that paco ls7 used a Tahoe front suspension to cpnvert his truck to a awd/4wd set up so its possible with not much work other than getting parts

Why would you volunteer for that kind of work when you can just sell the 2x and buy a 4x? Unless your rebuilding a wreck on the cheap or the like, I cant see the logic behind attempting this type of work on a newish truck. Soooooo many out there, turn key, ready to go. Plus the little "tune" and assorted electrical gremlins that are CERTAIN to happen with genIV swaps will keep you scratching your head over and over again... Good on ya for the courage, I wouldnt entertain the thought myself

Frame is the same except for a couple crossmembers IIRC. It would definitely be better to sell off the 2wd and find a 4wd complete though.

PM'ed about the frame for $500. Would be easier than blasting and painting mine.
