The truck seems to stop much better and I am extremely happy with the install so far...

Nice! I just did this on my 08 over New Years weekend. I went ahead and put some russel stainless lines on all 4 corners. I cut the rear hard lines back and double flared them. I need to find some stainless lines to replace the two rear center lines though.

thanks, I am glad to have gotten it knocked out, had been waiting a while to do it, as i hadnt needed to do a rear brake job on the drums until now... I may make my own lines for the rear and will be swapping them out soon

for the rotors, calipers (including PABs) and ceramic pads, I went with a power stop kit (which has factory re-manufactured calipers). These will be upgraded in the future with z06/wilwoods, or whatever I end up using in the future). Although you can piece together the parts also. And I do have gm part numbers for individual parts.

Nice write up. Do you think the E-brake cables will also work for a 14 bolt. Im going from a 10 bolt drum to a 14 bolt disc set up. I'm having to replace a lot of components as there is a lot of corrosion. Thanks for the info.

very sorry for the lack of response.. .been working on other non truck related things, didnt get a notification that some posted on the thread... hope you were able to find your answer. not sure if the ebrake components work for your application... if it is the same wheel base, same ebrake assembly, it may.. if i can measure something for you, etc. i am willing to do that for you... if the length of cable would help you determine if it may work

I went with the same cable set up you got. Build almost complete but won’t install the axle until I move, army got me on the move. For others, I had an issue with the E brake pad retaining clips. The reference part only came with one where my axle required two. And they were completely different. But over all, your write up saved me hours of research. Thank you
