Default e brake parts

my dad has a 2003 z71 extended cab silverado, he bought used last year from a small local dealer which is no longer in business. and i usually do most of the simple stuff when i t comes to maintenance for them.

so he calls me and says his e brake isnt not working pedal goes straight to the floor with no tension. so i start looking and the cable is adusted as tight as it goes so i figure he needs new e brake shoes. so after taking one of the rear wheels off (disc brakes by the way) THERE ARE NO E BRALE SHOES!!!

gone not even installed, so i start looking and notice there are a few other things missing.

on the backing plate of the axle the part on the other end of the e brake cable has 2 brass parts (when they are clean) like nubs when the cable is pulled tight it pushes these nubs into the brake shoe making it stop, well they are missing also and i have no idea what that part is called or if i can get that part without buying new backing plates.

so my question is; is there an e brake rebuild kit that will come wiht all of these parts (e brake shoes and that brass nub) so i can get e brake on this thing before he starts towing his bass boat. kinda hard to back down a ramp with no real way of holding the truck

Some people just took off the E-brake because there were so many problems with them.

Not sure about the kit though. You can go to the dealer and get them to pull up a diagram for the nub.
